Even now, the kids remind me that our 2009 trip to the Oregon coast is one of their favorites. And I would be compelled to agree, if only because of my passion for lighthouses -- something difficult to find in Idaho, I will add. And while this particular beach may not be a good one to run across barefoot, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, with its rocky, sea life replete coastline, is still among my favorite places along the Oregon coast. I used to have a passion for playing in the snow and building snowmen, but for some reason, either I've become thin-skinned or perhaps slightly more sane in my old age, so I tend to avoid confrontations with freezing weather as much as possible.
